Sep 4, 2012. #1. I put a new serpentine belt tensioner on my truck at 42,000 miles, that was back in January of 2006. Truck now has 151,400 miles on it. About a month ago I had a squealing serpentine belt, I replaced the belt and the squeal was gone.
