Ohio. Mar 23, 2022. #4. Not aware that the 1.5 has issues, but the 2.4 in older CR-Vs were 100K intervals. When I did my 2008 CR-V at 100K, I think I had one valve that was slightly loose. The 2.0 on the first CR-Vs did have issues with valves getting tight and burning, which unfortunately you would not know because the interval said 100K or ....

Start by adjusting the proportioning valve to around 50- to 60-percent reduction in output pressure. Many adjustable proportioning valves such as our adjustable proportioning valve will hit a maximum reduction in this range, so often adjusting the valve to the maximum reduction setting is a good place to start. Check the specifications of the ...Proportioning Valve; Combination Valve Residual Pressure Valve. Reach the output side with the existing rear brake line you took off the distribution block without kinking that line. 2. Mount it securely (don't want it's weight vibrating the lines!) 3. Get at it to adjust it.Always use the adjustable proportion valve. I had them on a few cars. They let me dial in the rear brakes to any suspension or tire change. Even buying the same brand and size of tire, I still have to adjust. When you get it right, you will be amazed at how much stopping power your sixties, GM A body, disc drum system has!

The proportioning valves are found on vehicles with front disc rear drum brake systems. They keep the rear brakes from locking up during sudden, hard braking by restricting fluid pressure to the rear brakes. A faulty proportioning valve results in the rear brakes locking up with only light to moderate pressure applied to the brake pedal.130 posts · Joined 2000. #1 · Jul 28, 2005. Fitment. FAQ. Wilwood Brake Proportioning Valve is used to adjust rear brake bias. It replaces the stock proportioning valve, and is used to fine tune rear brake bias. Required when major modifications are done to the brake system, such as: Converting from rear drums to discs. Increasing rotor size. Converting from power-assisted to manual brakes.Operating principle. A direct-operated 2-way standard proportional solenoid valve operates very similar to a direct-operated solenoid valve with the difference that the former operates through a range of valve positioning while the later only provides two switching states (i.e. on/off), Figure 2. In a direct-operated proportional solenoid valve, the plunger is the restrictor.Conventional proportioning valves should really be referred to as “braking force regulators” or “brake pressure regulating valves.”. While their name might imply true proportional control, in reality they provide a combination of the control found in Figures A and B. Up to certain pressures, these valves allow equal pressure to both the ... ….
