i just put on a 470 holley truck avenger to replace my 600cfm edelbrock 4bbl. with everything went unusually smooth till i was ready to fire it up. i tried to turn over the engine and it just kept on cranking. so i figured mabye it need a little gas to start out and i poored a little bit up...Great setup - once I timed it, I've never had any problems with it. I also replaced the stock cast iron manifold with an Edelbrock EGR Performer intake manifold, and replaced the Motorcraft 2100 2-bbl carb with the Holley 670 CFM Truck Avenger 4150 4-bbl carb. I agree that 670 is too much for a 350, especialy a stock 350. But it was the only one of the truck avenger series availbe when i purchased mine, and now they have the 770 and 470, but the 470 is too small. Holley came up with a great idea, instead of having two seperate fuel lines to fill the front and rear bowls they decided to run an alum line from the front to the rear where the float is. Supposedly the TAs have some other internal changes and the annular booster venturis that make them work well on the trail, but not so great on the street.

Current power valve is a 6.5, primary jets are 57's and secondaries are 61's. Vaccume at idle is about 21.The smallest Truck Avenger is 470 CFM. That may be a little overkill and a challenge to tune, considering the stock BBD is rated at 280. Do you already have a 4-barrel intake?
