IMO a movie/dinner date gives time to be in each other's presence to sort of calm initial nerves and then when u go to dinner, u have something to actually talk about. Dinner is also a first date no no. That's a traditional second date combo. First date should always be a walk, drink, coffee. Something casual.In general, explicitly asking someone if they want to make out or hook up is painfully awkward. Highly recommend not doing so. Wont say it will never work, though.
