Drive it on the highway for 10 plus miles and you will see the gauge come up all of a sudden. It is like the temperature probe is on the radiator side and when the thermostat (180 degrees) opens the gauge moves.Even when it was "working" and A/C, etc. would work, oil temperature would be lower than normal. As someone else mentioned, its a $900 repair that is mostly labor.
