At 62,000 miles, and out of warranty, I decided to use Valvoline Maxlife Full Synthetic. Valvoline specs show it meets requirements for Toyota WS. As stated in the original post, the WS fluid was due for replacement at 35,000 miles. At 62,000 miles the transmission was flushed and filled with the Valvoline fluid.That oil weight is fine and what I use for the front diff, rear diff, and transfer case. The transmission is different in the sense that it is sealed and will need to be flushed. Furthermore, the transmission does not need to be changed yet if you are at 30k. My truck is geared low and I am running Chevron Delo 80-W140. The thick gear oil will cushion the gears and bearings better than 75-W90 gear oil.7706 posts · Joined 2008. #7 · Sep 26, 2016.
