E46 seats
My newly repaired M6 seats for the E46. Picked up a set of E63 M6 seats that were in pretty rough shape. After watching M539 restorations restore his seats, I decided to go with Colourlocks Complete DIY Kit. The driver side bolster has definitely seen better days and took a few hours to patch the hole completely.Sep 9, 2010 · If you have sport seats, the bolster can wear in 4-5 years badly depending on how often someone gets in and out of the car and the way they enter the car. That being said, if your Alcantara holds up 10 years in the a car you are probably lucky. Not sure how the heat and UV can impact it.The bottom rubber spring seat will have a indent or recess from where your old spring used to sit. I am incline to think the replacement spring will sit in a similar manner unless the manufacturer says otherwise. I have attached a picture of the old strut assymbly before I changed the strut. Mine was a 2001 325i, not xi.

As quacktoduck already mentioned, the E46 won't work, or at least it won't be plug and play. Finding an E39 with sport seats isn't that bad. You should also consider comfort seats. This forum seems split about 50/50 as to which seats are preferred.E46 sport seats are more supportive and more comfortable than vaders. Vaders do look very cool in the E36 though, and they're quite iconic. I've never seen them in an E46, not sure if it would look weird or not. Save Share. Reply Quote. The leather covers were $975 and the initial installation of the covers was $350.00 and to get proper fit of the front covers was $200 more. I left the rear covers untouched after initial installation because they look good. The main issues were with the front seats.payam972 said: isnt the e39 M5 sport seat sporty like that too? price is a big factor. e46 seats can be bought on ebay for $400-500, and it sell all the time on ebay. Once in while, you'll find m5 seats and they are usually 700-1200 depend on condition. I think I'll save a little wieght on e46 seats too, but that's not the main reason. Reply.
Necessity is the mother of invention, so I was forced to learn. Step 1 - Pull the front end of the seat (lower part) up. There are two clips holding it down at the two ends. The seat should come right out. Step 2 - Remove the center headrest. Your sedan backrest (upper part) will not come out otherwise.E46 interior color codes. I have a 2002 325 xi Touring. Yes, the seat cushions are interchangeable. I swapped my lower seat cushions (sedan, sport seats) and it was just fine. I did follow a DIY I had found somewhere for replacing the seat cushion cover and it told me how to get it off. I have a PDF copy of the E46 refrofit instructions for installing heated seats and the elements are not included in the kit, just the wiring. The install says to "plug the elements in to the wiring..."
