The Duramax trucks do not have a fuel pump, so when you change the fuel filter, you have to re-prime the system by using the primer button on the Fuel filter housing. If you did not do that, you must have had to crank the engine a long time. I swapped the glow plugs then went to start it and it would crank but not start.
