The 245is a great choice for a 300 Norma or something that can get them near 3000fps. The 215 is a great choice for a shorter barrel in a smaller cartridge. Maybe a 230 as well, but it's really hard to beat the 215 hybrid.

This is pure opinion here but we use 150's for short range medium game laser flat loads (-5" @ 405yds sighted @ 290yds) and 200gr+ for longer range/heavier game. I limit 180 308's to my one-size-fits-all 30/06 load. The 300 WinMag really shines at 200gr and above. My $0.02. Oklahoma. In my 300 win mag, I use 80.5 grains of H1000 with Barnes 175 LRX and fgmm primers. It shoots great out of my sendero and Havak. It's .5 grains under book max and I load exactly to recommend COL. It's going 3066 FPS out of the sendero. Sendero target image on top. Seekins Havak on bottom with same load.Mar 27, 2015. #1. And that's were my problem starts. Coal of 3.565 I could feel the bolt had Lil bit of tension but I could shut it if I wanted with out to much force.A 165-grain projectile loaded in front of 27 grains of SR4759 nets you about 1,900 fps, while a 180-grain bullet with 31 grains of IMR 4198 lands in the 1,850 fps range. I was unimpressed with H4831sc with 180-200 gr bullets out of my 300 Win Mag. H4831sc just did not provide the speed I was looking for. Accuracy was good but RL-22 was much faster and just as accurate shooting 180 gr Accubonds. H1000 was much faster with the 200 g ELD-X and more accurate too.
