2004 - 2008 F150 - to those with 12.5 wide tires on factory rims - i had a dealer refuse to order me a set of 325 65 18 tires cuz he says its unsafe to put a 12.5 tire on a 7 inch wide rim. i know i can find another dealer who dont care about my well being and does care about cold hard cash i know some of you have...May 8, 2019. #2. Pretty common to run wide tires on an 8 or 10 inch rim offroad. It basically acts like a beadlock without buying beadlocks. Its a lot harder to lose a bead on em with that setup. I used to run like 12.5 inch wide tires on stock chromies and dropped air pressure low with no issues. A big V8 FJ60 on 37s.Thats pretty much what Im running now. My question is can I run 13.5s on a 12 inch rim safely when the tire specs say 8 to 11 inch rims. Current setup. 37X13.5X20 on 20X10 wheels. New setup, I just want to know if there will be any problems going to these bigger wheels. 37X13.5X20 on 20X12 wheels.

With a 12.50 you just need to be careful around curbs cause theres not much of a sidewall to protect the wheel.
